Since 1993, Palexpo has been acting to make a positive contribution to society with an exemplary three-pronged approach that is economic, social, and environmental. In 2023, Palexpo and its teams continued to mobilise to lead various initiatives with the sole aim to help build a more sustainable future.

Palexpo is clearly identified as an essential link in the economy of Geneva that contributes actively to the dynamism of the region. To serve the local economy, the company firmly believes that its success can be meaningful only if it is sustainable.
A DYNAMIC ECONOMIC PLAYER THAT SERVES ITS REGION
In 2023, Palexpo’s total contribution to the local economy was CHF 199 million in direct benefits, and CHF 121 million in induced effects, which add up to overall benefits of CHF 320 million. The economic benefits generated by Palexpo’s business in the Greater Geneva area contribute to the latter’s local and international prestige.

LOCAL PURCHASING
The zero-kilometre procurement policy has also allowed Palexpo to operate its business by purchasing 98% of its supplies in Switzerland and 78% in Geneva. This commitment to sustainable purchasing is pivotal for the company to remain a key player in the local economic development.
A KEY EMPLOYER IN THE CANTON OF GENEVA
Lastly, Palexpo’s success creates jobs: the exhibition centre is a key employer in the Canton of Geneva with 200 permanent employees in 2023. The company also employs several hundreds of temporary workers in the scope of large-scale events like INDEX™, Watches and Wonders Geneva, or the Automnales, not to mention subcontractors that are essential to the success of any event.
