Palexpo, the world capital of dialogue on AI
Held at Palexpo from 7 to 11 July 2025, the AI for Good Global Summit, alongside the WSIS+20 High-Level Event, brought together in Geneva two major international platforms dedicated to digital technologies, artificial intelligence and the global governance of technology.
A global AI summit
Led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for digital technologies, in partnership with the Swiss Government and numerous UN agencies, the summit has become the leading global platform dedicated to AI for the public good.
Ethics, aims and challenges
Over five days, public-sector leaders, technology companies, researchers, start-ups, NGOs and international institutions came together to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence in response to the major challenges of our time. Discussions focused in particular on AI governance and regulation, international technology standards, ethics and digital trust, AI in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, and applications in health, climate, energy and mobility. The summit combined strategic conferences, technology demonstrations, workshops, solution pitches and exhibition spaces, fostering links between innovation, public policy and operational deployment.
Geneva, capital of digital governance
The 2025 edition formed part of a particularly significant international context, alongside the WSIS+20 High-Level Event, marking twenty years since the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). This convergence broadened the discussions to encompass the global challenges of digital transformation, digital inclusion and multilateral cooperation. By hosting an event of this global scale, Palexpo confirms its position as a platform for major international summits dedicated to technology and innovation. The summit also contributes to Geneva’s reputation as a capital of digital governance, at the crossroads of international organisations, academia and industry.
