50th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
From 9 to 13 April 2025, Palexpo hosted the 50th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, a leading event dedicated to patented inventions and innovation. This anniversary edition brought together nearly 1,050 inventions from over 35 countries and regions, confirming the exhibition’s role as an international platform for the promotion of science and technology.
Space in the service of innovation
As guest of honour, the European Space Agency (ESA) offered an insight into the practical applications of space research, highlighting the impact of its innovations in key areas such as health, energy and transport. The presence of an astronaut together with an exhibition devoted to watchmaking technologies stemming from space patents, illustrated the links between scientific exploration and industrial applications.
Between expertise and discovery
For the first time, a Swiss Innovation and Research Pavilion brought together start-ups, SMEs, academic institutions and public-sector stakeholders around Switzerland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Structured around daily themes – strategic technologies, financing and research – this space fostered networking, knowledge-sharing and project acceleration. True to its mission of knowledge transfer, the exhibition also offered a large-scale educational and family programme: scientific workshops, CERN demonstrations, activities led by the University of Geneva’s Scienscope, digital fabrication, robotics and renewable energy all helped raise young people’s awareness of science and innovation.
Palexpo, a technological showcase
Through this jubilee edition, Palexpo reaffirmed its role as an international hosting platform for major technology events, while promoting innovation as a driver of economic development, scientific cooperation and knowledge transfer to the next generation.
