Environment
Palexpo’s environmental strategy is part of a long-term vision structured around concrete four-year objectives (2024–2027), guaranteeing measurable and continuous progress.
Our objectives and results in 2024
Reducing energy consumption in buildings
OUR RESULTS
• 80% of the light fixtures in Hall 6 replaced with LEDs, incorporating an advanced monitoring system that allows individual control of each light.
• 20% of the light fixtures in car park P12 replaced with LEDs: a double optimisation that improves energy efficiency while offering more precise management of lighting according to needs.
• A project to insulate the façade of the administration building is currently in the assessment phase.
• Creation of an annual assessment of the heat reporting index (HRI) of the buildings in order to measure and optimise their energy efficiency.
• 25% less carpet used during Automnales 2024 to further limit the event’s environmental footprint.
•A project to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of Hall 6 is underway (25% complete).
Reduce the amount of waste produced
OUR RESULTS
• Selection of a new supplier to replace printers with more energy-efficient equipment, while at the same time reducing the number of machines used internally (start date set for 1 January 2025).
• 50% reduction in the amount of paper-based promotional material used at Palexpo’s own exhibitions.
• Removal of protections during deliveries to comply with tender requirements.
Improve the recovery rate of collected waste
OUR RESULT
• Use of carpet made from 99% recycled materials for all of Palexpo’s own events.
